Welcome to Lifeskills LLC-OT for Spirited Kids and Adults!

We offer pediatric and adult occupational therapy. We offer in-clinic, telehealth, and outdoor visits for our patients.

OUR APPROACH

Occupational therapy is much more than helping a client with self-care skills or gross motor skills. Our role is to help our clients develop the physical, sensory, emotional, cognitive, and social skills needed to successfully participate in everyday life. This includes fine and gross motor coordination, balance, strength, sensory processing and self-regulation, attention, executive functioning (planning, organization, initiation, sequencing, problem-solving, and self-monitoring), emotional regulation, coping skills, self-care activities such as dressing, feeding, hygiene, and toileting, social interaction, play, school participation, and independence at home and in the community. Occupational therapists also consider how diagnoses such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, learning differences, neurological conditions, or other medical concerns affect a client's daily functioning. While standardized testing is one important part of an evaluation, it reflects performance during a brief, structured session and does not always capture how a client functions across real-life environments. Clinical decisions are based on the client's overall functional abilities, observations over time, input from caregivers, parents, and teachers, and whether skilled occupational therapy continues to improve or maintain the client's ability to participate successfully in everyday activities.
